Keith James
Keith is undertaking a very cool, very ambitious project to draw a scene from every chapter of the Harry Potter books (and then some), and as he’s gotten through book one, you can imagine I’ve found some of his pictures helpful in creating this site. :) What I love most about Keith’s drawings, though, are his details – when I first saw his painting from the Hut-on-the-Rock, I almost screamed out because it’s the only drawing I’ve ever seen where Hagrid actually has to “[stoop] so that his head just brushe[s] the ceiling.” For someone who knows the books as well as I do, these details really help complete the world.

His attention to detail is AMAZING. I especially love the floor and benches of the train compartment. Lovely. ^_^

Where’s the painting for Chapter One?
Yes, I love the attention to detail also. I love how you’ve painted all the students. Love the Midnight Duel painting and how you can identify each student. Although Hermione looks like a mad woman!

Wonderful work. Are there larger versions somewhere ?

There are larger versions of some artists’ pieces and not of others. The place to look is on their websites – in Keith’s case, the link is at the top of this page. :)

Oh, and Sean – I didn’t use every drawing of Keith’s (though I came close) just because a couple didn’t really fit with the layouts I was using. All of his work can be found on his website, though, which is linked to at the top of this page.

So good! Amazing details. I love the way you draw Hermione. As a woman with enormous and frizzy hair, I loved sharing that trait with her, and I’ve always been disappointed with how sleek WB made her hair in the movies. They should take a page out of your book.
