One recent thought I had about the ending of "Goblet of Fire". Dumbledore's speech at the end, bringing together the students from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang, seems to be leading to a concerted, international effort by the wizarding world all around the world, not just Britain, to stop Voldemort.

But in the succeeding books, all the way down to "Deathly Hallows", Wizarding Britain seems to be on its own against Voldemort. No help comes from other countries, even at the Battle of Hogwarts. What Rowling was apparently building up to never came, and I think that a pity.

Very small mistake under the section "The boy who lived". It reads: "...and it many ways it is a turning point..." I think it should be "...and *in* many ways..."

I love this site, by the way. I'm ever so grateful you chose a dark background, it helps avoid blinding headaches induced by poor website design choices.

@Steve - there were other protections that dumbledore had placed. and they say as much in the following books. about how he returns to the dursleys because of the protections charms and spells that dumbledore put on the house to be a safe haven for harry so long as harry could call it home. it was not just about the blood relation. though that was one of my the many protections placed. at least this was my understanding as to why he constantly returned and i thought they mentioned this in DH as to why he waited until he was 17

@Samantha. Voldemort overcame the barrier of not being able to touch Harry because of his blood...such as in Book 1. However, the ancient magic invoked at the Dursleys' still protects Harry when he resides there (until he is 17 of course) as long as he goes back once a year. So he goes back to renew it as a "safe haven." Even though Voldemort took Harry's blood, Voldemort can still not get into the Dursleys'.

This is a really great site! Very in depth, and love de collection of fan art.

GoF always is a bit of a hard read for me, because I've never seen a proper explanation as to why Harry had to go through the whole tournament. There must be a quicker, more easy way to get Harry to Voldemort.

Someone remind me why Harry was sent back to the Dursley's even though Voldemort had overcome the blood protection barrier?

Otherwise - well done. I'm re reading the series and have been using this site as a guide after I read each chapter. If only Harry Potter were a subject at school - I'd've aced the class with the help of this site! :D
